Microneedling with RF is similar to regular microneedling but with a “boost” to it. This device is a stamp technique, where when the needles enter the skin, they do not interrupt/damage the outer layer of skin due to their patented insulated needles. When the needles are in the skin, the very tip (.2 mm) of the needles which aren’t insulated “zap” with Radio Frequency heat. This then makes a larger “lollipop” injury inside of the skin (to increase collagen remodeling) versus just a vertical channel, the RF expands the injury then allowing more collagen remodeling in the dermis where collagen and elastin are created. There are 4 different controlled depths that can be used, which the technician will decide per person depending on the thickness of each person’s skin.
A consultation is required prior to treatment. Ask for our Master Esthetician, Ms. Whitney Kauzlarich.
What can I expect during and after treatment?
Prior to your treatment, we topically numb the skin for about 30 minutes in hopes that the treatment has little to no discomfort. The treatment itself is a stamp technique doing sections of the face at a time with some over-lap each pulse. Once done, the area will be red and possibly inflamed but will calm down within a matter of hours. Redness can be expected for 24-48 hours potentially, sometimes longer depending on the intensity or the treatment, or the sensitivity of the skin. Face may be a little hot for a few hours following the treatment. Skin may also have a little bit of a texture to it for 1-2 weeks after but will go away once the healing process is complete.
What conditions does Microneedling improve?
INTRAcel can help with:
How much down time and post care is expected?
After an INTRAcel treatment, there will be minimal downtime USUALLY consisting of 24-48 hours of redness. Downtime can vary depending on the intensity of each treatment which will depend on what is being treated and the desired patient goal. Post care products will be given, and at home skin care may be recommended or required with treatment series.
How often should I have this treatment performed?
The number of treatments suggested will depend per person. We typically suggest 3-6 treatments spaced about 4 weeks apart, however it truly depends on what each person is looking for in results, as well as the condition of each skin prior to treatment. Everyone’s skin is different and results can vary per person.
How long does this treatment last?
As with any treatment you will need to do maintenance treatments after your original series. Results should last about 12 months, and we would suggest maintenance treatments 1-3 yearly or more if patient desires.
