Don't Miss the Shield™ Blood Test Screening Event

Early cancer detection is an important step toward protecting your health. On December 4, our Enumclaw office will host a special screening event featuring the Shield™ blood test, an FDA-approved option for colorectal cancer screening for adults ages 45–85 who are at average risk.

The Shield™ test detects signals associated with colorectal cancer through DNA released into the bloodstream. Unlike genetic testing, which identifies inherited genetic variants that may increase cancer risk, Shield™ is designed to detect signals associated with cancer itself. It offers an alternative for individuals who are unable or unwilling to undergo traditional screening methods, such as stool-based tests or colonoscopies.

Current and new patients are welcome. Limited walk-ins will be accommodated as availability allows.

What Does the Test Cover?

The Shield™ blood test is covered by Medicare and many commercial insurance plans, with no out-of-pocket cost expected for eligible patients with coverage. Medicaid plans are not included. Please bring your insurance card so coverage can be reviewed.

Optional add-on testing may also be available for signals associated with bladder, breast, esophageal, gastric, liver, lung, ovarian, pancreatic, and prostate cancers.

Please note: Shield™ is intended for colorectal cancer screening and is not a replacement for colonoscopies, mammograms, or other recommended cancer screenings. Eligibility requirements apply, and individuals who have completed colorectal cancer screening within the past year are not eligible for this event. Patients with a personal history of cancer should discuss testing with their healthcare provider, as previous cancer may affect results.
