Radiant Aura

Our non-surgical treatment offers patients a more comfortable and convenient option for successfully treating squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma.

What is Radiant Aura?

Skin Cancer Treatment Redefined

Radiant Aura is a state-of-the-art system that treats basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma using superficial radiation therapy (SRT).

Superficial radiation therapy delivers low-energy radiation directly to the surface layers of the skin, where basal and squamous cell carcinomas develop. This non-invasive approach targets cancer cells by damaging their ability to grow and divide, leading to their natural elimination by the body. Unlike deeper radiation treatments, superficial radiation therapy minimizes impact on surrounding healthy tissue, offering a precise, gentle alternative to surgery.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

Consultation & Skin Assessment

During your initial consultation, we will review your diagnosis and discuss a personalized plan based on your type of skin cancer and its location.

Patient Positioning

During the treatment, you will sit or lie comfortably. The handheld applicator, which has a halo ring for precise placement, will be aligned over the treatment area.

Radiation Delivery

The applicator will deliver low-energy X-rays directly to the cancer cells using either superficial radiation therapy (SRT) or electronic brachytherapy (eBt). Each session only takes a few minutes.

Post-Treatment Care

With Radiant Aura, you are free to resume your normal activities immediately after the procedure. You may experience mild redness or peeling in the days following treatment. Any side effects are typically minimal and localized.

Follow-Up Visits

Once your treatment is complete, follow-up visits are scheduled as needed based on your personalized plan.

One of the key benefits of Radiant Aura is that it leaves no surgical scar and requires no downtime. Unlike excisions or Mohs surgery, there are no sutures involved, no pain, and most patients return to their normal routines right after treatment.

How is Radiant Aura different from other skin cancer treatments?
Addition open icon + icon plus icon

Radiant Aura differs from traditional skin cancer treatments in that it is completely non-invasive. Most skin cancers are treated with surgical procedures like excisional surgery or Mohs micrographic surgery, which involve cutting out the cancerous tissue and sometimes healthy tissue around it. While effective, these surgeries can leave scarring, require stitches, and may involve downtime or functional limitations, especially when treating delicate areas like the face, nose, or ears.

Unlike deeper radiation or surgical methods, Radiant Aura spares surrounding healthy tissue, involves no cutting or sutures, and typically requires no downtime. It’s particularly beneficial for patients who are not good candidates for surgery due to age, medical conditions, or the location of the lesion.
